A refreshingly honest, science-based approach to weight loss that doesn’t rely on supplemented smoothies or expensive pharmaceutical interventions. It’s particularly well-suited for anyone exhausted by the cycle of dieting and regaining weight, and for those who want to understand the psychological mechanisms driving their eating habits.

As someone who approaches fad diets and weight loss books with a degree of scepticism, I genuinely recommend this book. The perfect read for anyone looking to shed some weight before 2026.

Whilst not dismissing the importance of self awareness, education, the laws of thermodynamics, and health benefits of movement, the main aim of this book describes a simple technique to kill identified unwanted food cravings which may be preventing weight loss. 

It is an informative easy read for anyone interested in how human behaviour is conditioned (think Pavlovs dogs) and how a simple technique may be used to override such conditioning. I am currently fortunate enough to be happy with my weight, eating habits and lifestyle, but if I had any such unwanted cravings or habits I would certainly give the technique a try. It would surely be a very useful tool if applied correctly.

A clinical researcher and psychotherapist, Christine has dedicated the last 30 years to improving people's ability to get the results they want.

Christine Sutherland is a behavioural therapist and published clinical researcher and science writer. She has provided therapy services to individuals and corporations since 1992. She has also been an advisor to the Australian SAS in relation to performance under threat conditions.

She is the developer of the WeightChoice(TM) program.

Her various scientific papers examine SDR Therapy on clinical depression, PTSD in the military (in draft), behavioural and academic performance of at-risk children, and non-malignant chronic pain without sufficient explanatory pathology. Her books for clients and health professionals have been published world-wide by McGraw-Hill and Jarir.
